MEET AND EAT

THÉÂTRE DES DOMS

14 JULY 2017 AT 11:00

Presentation of multidisciplinary and international residencies in arts

Created in 2016, the LIBITUM is an isolated provençal farmhouse at the edge of the Luberon National Park, which turns into an artistic pool and a space for creative reflection at the end of every season.

Over a period of four weeks, around twenty artists from stage arts, plastic arts or digital arts, are welcomed there, usually for one or two weeks, to research, write or compose, and develop their personal art project. These artistic residencies offer accommodation, transport, food, and the opportunity for artists from different horizons, each interested in different subjects related to art, to meet and exchange, discuss and create together.

You are invited to join us and learn more about this place and how it works on Friday 14 July for the Meet and Eat at 11 am at the Théâtre des Doms. Artists, who have spent time here in the past couple of years, will present their work, talk about how their residency helped them in their creative process.

DECONCERTO

DUO GAMA COMPANY

FESTIVAL OFF/AVIGNON

Duo Gama will perform their “Deconcerto” every night from 07 to 30/07 at 22h35 at Théâtre des lucioles in Avignon (rest on Mondays)

Duo Gama takes you into a world where music is show; where each piece of music is a performance, at once unique and surprising. This incredible duo of virtuosos is the missing link between Jean Sebastian Bach, György Ligeti and Johnny Cash. From classical, country music, to joyous waltzing, there is no genre they can’t handle. A masterful programme directed by a good dose of humour and derision. Music as you never seen or heard before!

“Music joyfully made out of beer bottles by this perfectly tuned duo, the Gama Duo finds its inspiration in the art of clown, physical theatre and musical performance. It is irresistible! By the way they play, create confusion and surprise in silence, by their stunned and dumbstruck expressions on the faces of Gaël Michaux and Maxime Dautremont throughout the show. These two understand each other so well when it comes to making the audience laugh without saying a word.”

Didier Beclard – L’Echo

THE THEORY OF THE Y

CANINE COLLECTIF

2017-2018 TOUR

“The theory of the Y” addresses the issue, sometimes still taboo nowadays, of sexual orientation, in a light, smart and energetic manner.

4 actors, 19 scenes, twenty characters, 32 magic boxes and 60 minutes which humorously and accurately summon the childhood, the teenage years and adulthood of Anna. As she grows up Anna discovers the rules of life, love, sexuality, the first desires and scorching disappointments. She collides, mischievously, with the codes of society and asks THE question that bothers her: what if we could fall in love without asking ourselves whether it is with a man or a woman?

On tour in Belgium from October 2017 to March 2018

JOSEPHINA
Chaliwaté Co.
Festival OFF / AVIGNON

The Chaliwaté Company will perform at the Festival Off in Avignon from 07/07 to 30/07 at 17h25 at the Théâtre des lucioles (rest on Mondays).

Within the four walls of his small apartment, Alfredo is alone and yet someone else is there…Caught in the middle of a play with words, body movements, ellipses and clues, the absent and yet omnipresent Josephina occupies the space…

“After an hour of the relentless struggle of two bodies clashing, of raw onions thrown in your face, of swaying tussle, Sandrine Heyraud and Sicaire Durieux tell a story about the absence of a loved one, the emptiness she left behind, the consequences of a crime of passion. The performance revives our desire for love, the desire to bite into it with our incisors rather than with soft milk teeth. With Joséphina we understand more clearly why one « falls » in love, and all the delicious agony that comes with the fall.”

Catherine Makereel, Le Soir
