Othmane Moumen
After discovering theater late in life through associations and youth centers, Othmane Moumen decided to make it his profession. He played in about sixty shows and went through different institutions, from the Théâtre du Parc to the Théâtre des Martyrs, from the Théâtre Varia to the Théâtre Jean Vilar through the Théâtre le Public and the Théâtre de Liège.
He has been Harlequin, Puck, Ariel, Passepartout, Chaplin, Scapin, Elephant man, Arsène Lupin. In 2001 he co-founded the company Chéri-Chéri. In 2012 he founded a gestural theater company that toured the world with the show Doffice. He has also been directing theater workshops for 15 years. For several years he has been actively involved in writing plays such as “Chaplin”, “Doffice”, “Lupin” and “Moutoufs”, which deals with the dual Belgian-Moroccan identity. He was in the last film of the Dardenne Brothers “ Le jeune Ahmed “ for which he was nominated best actor in a second role.
Othmane is directing a project about his father’s lung cancer and his longlife silence about his emigration, using a lifelike puppet of his father he made himself. The short form was created in November 2022 and the long form will be presented in March 2024.
