Stoel
A wacky and musical ballet of chairs, Stoel is a contemporary dance duo made for young audiences starting at the age of 3 years.
Chairs of all sizes and colors make up the set. Following the rhythm of cello and voice, two dancers revisit this very familiar object. Together or individually, they organise, transform, and cross the space; they move into and share the space. The chair itself becomes a playground: a place to take risks and to meet in different ways. The two dancers find themselves in a choreographic adventure as the chairs become runaway vehicles, monsters or walkways that send them into choreographic duets of a simple grace.

This remarkable wordless dance show by Belgium’s Compagnie Nyash, performed to cello music, at times resembles an unlikely kids’ version of Cafe Müller.
