After a 20-year journey—a maze of encounters and diverse collaborations, of readjustments following trials—the Compagnie Nyash, as a form of celebration, wishes to bring to fruition a long-held desire: to bring a group together on stage.
Parade brings together 8 established artists who disrupt and overturn their creative process by shifting their practices and through encounters with one another. Eight artists who dare to confront creative paths different from their own, from those they are accustomed to.
The process put in place allows for a deep testing and exploration of the notion of interpersonal and collective trust throughout the creation. The various stages traversed aim to inscribe within the performers’ bodies a collective bodily memory, a new shared language.
As the raw material for the research and compositional work, trust—elevated to the status of matter—will resonate in the gestures carried onto the stage, helping to anchor this work in the real, in the living.
The final form of the performance that emerges at the end of the process will bear witness to all these moments of trust experienced together.
With « us », it’s not a question of saying who I am, of declaring who I am; it’s not even a question of saying what I am like; it’s a question of saying what we can do if we knot together.
