Handle with care (titre provisoire)

The creation Handle with care revolves around the presence of a Love doll on stage. This life-sized silicone doll, extremely realistic, is, in real life, used as a figurine for photography, a life companion, and, of course, as a sexual object, primarily by men.

Seeing the doll, being in its presence, means directly confronting the patriarchal oppression and consumerism that permeate many of our relationships.

Neither dead nor alive, this doll unsettles us with the strangeness of its presence. The discomfort, unease, and distress associated with encountering this object are explored from the very beginning of the performance, gradually giving way to a more fictional experience as the specificities of the object are revealed.

Handle with care is a visual creation, structured around a sequence of tableaux, centered on manipulation and the body in motion. The performers, gathered around the doll, remain, like it, silent. Their silence does not exclude the projection of images and texts, sound recordings, and songs, which provide a counterpoint to the performance.
