PAN! (la Compagnie)
Pan! (La compagnie) was founded in 2005 by Julie Annen to present her first creation for children’s theatre, La sorcière du placard aux balais. Step by step, Pan! is making a place for itself among the emerging companies of French-speaking Belgian theatre for young audiences. In 2009, as part of a co-production, the Petit Théâtre in Lausanne and the Théâtre du Pommier in Neuchâtel enabled Pan! to make its entrance into Switzerland with an original work: Ceux qui courent, created in 2009 at the Petit Théâtre and presented at the Rencontres de Théâtre Jeune Public in Huy the following year.
The Company’s second show, Les pères, premiered in 2011. The spectators are touched, the press is enthusiastic and the show has been performed more than two hundred times in Belgium, France and Switzerland. There will also be La petite fille aux allumettes. Presented in Huy in 2014, this show won the prize of the Minister of Basic Education and the press’s love at first sight.
In 2018, set designers Thibaut de Coster and Charly Kleinermann joined Julie Annen as artistic director, with a view to artistic openness and the renewal of practices. La Soupe au(x) caillou(x), a “puppet tale for actress, vegetables and set designers”, presented in Huy in August 2019, is their first collective creation.
