Maxie and Maxi are just under 30 years old, and like so many people that age, they are looking for love, or at least what they imagine love to be. They have already had relationships, but each time the passion fades.
How to fall in love better? How to make their relationship last?
How to make a couple by finding a way in the middle of the patriarchal
injunctions inherent to our society, while listening to oneself?
To counter their fate, they participate in a workshop on love and relationships.
Through exercises with pop culture references, they will observe their body’s physiological responses in an attempt to feel what we might call the side effects of love.
However, after a few well-applied tests, Maxie and Maxi are forced to
forced to admit that their attempts do not work at all.
This observation will lead them to step out of their roles (literally and figuratively) and to discuss together their feelings, their real desires, and the injunctions to the couple and to romance in our Western societies. It will lead them to try to understand why their attempts have been failures and will push them to invent something else, including, perhaps, other ways of relating.
From there will be born the relational utopias that they would like or could live tomorrow, with these multitudes of beings who will have passed, like them, by this strange and happy experience that is laboratory of “deconstruction”…
