KosmogonieS - Installation
A curious journey of alcoves in the form of immaterial teepees, this installation, built by the young designer Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte, mixes round carpets, like a miniature galaxy, and slender metal structures, like delicate and fragile dreamlike dwellings. Both a refuge and an object of curiosity, each teepee invites the child to huddle in its center to listen to different snippets and versions of the many cosmogonies told by human beings.
Mythology is unique in that it offers neither a definitive nor a unique version: the stories are multiple, divergent, moving, because they are above all the result of oral traditions. They are therefore subject to reworking and rewriting. This installation is part of this desire to constantly reappropriate the myths and stories that are the foundation of our culture.
